What better way of adopting a second language while learning science.
Regardless of the learner's age, immersion programs have been proved to work the best. Whether families who are transferred abroad, these programs are mostly used for adults who arrive to a new language speaking country and have to quickly catch up by immersing themself in doing regular activities. However, in recent years, it has become a trend for young learners who want to start, upkeep, improve and/or sustain their second or third language.
Because science demonstrations are visual, it is easy to learn vocabulary at first, while later fill in the gaps by connecting the verbs from native language to the new language by seeing it in action. The same way that young children learn while observing, the verbal understanding comes first while the ability to speak starts later as psychophysical development allows.
From ages 0-6, the brain is the busiest collecting information and generating new neuron's connections which would lead to more efficient processing of recalling information, finding patterns and resolving task. We strongly recommend starting immersive programs at a young age, though it helps as well to reinforce those learners that had started and forgotten about the language or simply could benefit from a second environment where to practice.
What better than relating a story while showing how we make discoveries together but in different language. Instructors should be not only bilingual, but rather native speakers who have full access to a variety of grammatical structures and most important pronunciation.
